More About Sweezey Lake

One of the few unspoiled lakes in Southeast Michigan

Sweezey Lake is located west and a bit south of Ann Arbor. Within an hour’s drive of Detroit, or about the same from Toledo, you’ll find yourself at what still remains a beautiful lake, surrounded by a mature forest, with "real" cottages.

Maybe because it’s smaller in comparison to some of the area’s larger, more-accessible lakes (105 acres in all), Sweezey has yet to be "developed" or "urbanized" with large, sprawling, modern, big-foot homes. There are a handful of folks that live here year-round, but, generally, this lake's 80 small cottages are owned by folks that visit during the summer.

Around here, the people are friendly and welcoming. The water is clear and clean, constantly being renewed by numerous natural springs that surround the lake. The fishing is good, and birds, and many more of God’s critters, are in abundance.
